Bio

I hold a PhD in Economics of Industry and Technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, Brazil). I am currently a Lecturer in Economics at Birmingham City University (UK) and a Research Associate at the Economics of Innovation Research Group (UFRJ). I am also acting as a coordinator of the Economics of Innovation Working Group of the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI)/Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET).

I have experience as a researcher since 2010. I have been working on academic projects and as a consultant for public institutions and non-governmental organisations. During this period, I have worked closely with policymakers to develop policy recommendations and entrepreneurs to design innovation strategies.

My research interests focus on the Economics of Innovation and International Business. My academic profile addresses empirical research on Science, Technology and Innovation policies and innovation and international strategies, mainly applied to the pharmaceutical/health sector. I am also interested in the mission-oriented policies approach and qualitative research methods.
